Morning Creek Reno FINALE!!

Ahhhhh this reno is finally DONE 🙌🏼

Y’all this baby was such a doozy - but boy is she a star ✨ From the freshly painted cabinets to the kick a** floors this little beauty has my heart.

Okay okay, let’s get to the details!! My sweet homeowner has a flair for all things southern, Charleston, and  o r n a t e. Southern & Charleston you KNOW I am down for - but ornate 👀  n o t  so much. So we played around a TON to nail down the perfect medley of her tastes and my passions.

We started with my favorite jumping off point - the floors. She’s a heel wearer AND has the occasional puppy visitor so we went with durability FIRST. This is where LVT (luxury vinyl tile) truly shines. Not only can it withstand a heard of elephants but it’s also water resistant AND wayyyyy more cost effective than a hardwood. We chose a brand that I love called Karndean. It’s textured just like hardwood floors but way more durable. We went with a very natural wood look with some antiqued accents to pull in her rich wood furniture pieces. (Our Charleston flair 💁🏼‍♀️)

Once floors were done - you guessed it, cabinet paint! This one was a beast. White, off-white, antiqued white all the way to our final (and PERFECT) pick - TAUPE (Sherwin Williams Truly Taupe to be exact!) We went back and forth with this kitchen because I knew she wanted to brighten - but whites just didn’t give enough dynamic to this Charleston inspired oasis. When I saw this taupe color I was nervous to suggest it (I have never done taupe cabinets 👀) but once that paint hit the wood I knew it would be magic. And to add even more character and charm we finished the island in a rich espresso for a truly eye-grabbing pop! Finished them off with some charming oil rubbed bronze pulls and knobs and topped our island with these gorgeous pendants!

Keeping with theme we went with a light and airy granite with just enough pops of taupe, copper, and espresso to keep you guessing. I saw this piece of granite while out exploring one day and KNEW it was the one. I remember taking the homeowner to see it and watching her face turn from excited to mesmerized and I knew we had found our winner 👏🏼 The way it plays off the taupe cabinetry & that sultry espresso island is the definition of #kitchengoals. We went with a large one basin stainless steel sink where ALL the dishes will fit and added an industrial oil rubbed faucet as the crowning jewel. Talk about volunteering for dish duty 😻

Of course, this kitchen would be nothing without the gorgeous light flooding in through the new French doors! These babies were a pain in the you know what, but they add so much dimension and light to the room 🙌🏼

With a straight shot into the living room from the kitchen, I knew we had to flow our charm into this room as well! We did away with all things heavy and dark and brought in tons of light with new curtains, a bright new rug, some fun pillows and pops of our taupe-y goodness throughout.

In the dining room, we made yet another bold color choice PINK. Well, more like mauve, but still it was a gamble. And BOY did it pay off! We added some cream curtains and toned down the golds and deep reds to create a softer and more inviting room. This room was a fun challenge because we wanted to keep the Charleston flair but give it a fresh facelift and I think we did just that!

We started this project back in February so to say we are GLAD it is finally complete is an understatement! One thing I feel like I'm constantly telling people who undergo a renovation is - expect the unexpected. Your house WILL look amazing, but the journey there will NOT be easy. So if you think you're up for the challenge submit an inquiry on the site & let's get started making your dream home a reality!

Until next time!

XO
